The Skill Enhancement for Rural English Language Teachers (SERELT) program has officially entered its second phase, with rollout sessions held at the Monaragala and Vavuniya Regional English Support Centres (RESCs) on 19 September 2025.

Building on the successful implementation of Phase 1 in the Badulla and Nuwara Eliya districts, Phase 2 marks an important step forward in strengthening English language teaching in rural communities.

This next stage of the program is designed to integrate the valuable lessons, successes, and community insights gained during the initial rollout. By doing so, SERELT continues its mission of creating deeper and more sustainable impact in rural education, empowering teachers to better support students and foster stronger learning outcomes.
