SIHL with Dr. Patrick McNamara Welcomes Fulbright Scholar Dr. Matthew McGraw for July Residency

The Sarvodaya Institute of Higher Learning (SIHL) is honored to welcome Fulbright Scholar Dr. Matthew McGraw for a month-long residency this July. A distinguished expert in community college leadership, systems development, and education center advancement, Dr. McGraw joins SIHL under the prestigious Fulbright Scholar Program, the U.S. Department of State’s flagship international academic exchange initiative.
Adding further significance to this engagement, Dr. Patrick McNamara, Executive Director of the United States–Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission, visited Sarvodaya Headquarters on July 7 to mark the occasion and further strengthen institutional ties.
Dr. McGraw brings more than two decades of experience in enhancing community college infrastructure, shaping education policy, and promoting student success initiatives. His expertise provides SIHL with a unique opportunity to deepen its mission of fostering inclusive, accessible, and impactful education across Sri Lanka and the region.
During his residency, Dr. McGraw will lead roundtable discussions, strategy sessions, and guest lectures involving SIHL staff, fellows, and regional education partners. These engagements will explore best practices in community college development and support the design of lifelong learning ecosystems suited to diverse communities and contexts.
This collaboration aligns closely with the Fulbright Program’s mission to build mutual understanding through academic exchange, and reflects SIHL’s growing role in global education discourse—bridging the worlds of policy, practice, and research.
SIHL warmly invites partners, stakeholders, and members of the academic community to connect with Dr. McGraw during his time with us and take part in this exciting opportunity for shared learning and innovation.
