SERELT Program Impact Assessment in Badulla and Nuwara Eliya Districts

SERELT Program Impact Assessment in Badulla and Nuwara Eliya Districts

The Sarvodaya Institute of Higher Learning (SIHL) successfully conducted the SERELT Programme Impact Assessment on 16th and 17th October in Badulla, Etampitiya National School, Kuttiagolla Maha Vidyalaya, and Talawakelle Tamil Maha Vidyalaya.

The assessment aimed to evaluate how the SERELT training has cascaded into classroom practices and to measure its broader impact on English Language Teaching within the schools. Through interviews, classroom observations, and discussions with teachers and coordinators, the team gained valuable insights into the progress and challenges of implementing the skills and methodologies introduced through the programme.

The findings were highly encouraging. Teachers reported increased confidence in using communicative teaching methods, improved lesson planning and delivery, and greater collaboration among peers. They also highlighted how the training has helped them make English lessons more engaging and relevant for their students, a clear indicator that the SERELT initiative is fostering sustainable, teacher-led transformation in the education ecosystem.
