A Journey Through Nature: Musaeus College @ Bandaragama SIHL, Main Campus
Post O/L Students (226) of Musaeus College participated in an enriching educational excursion at the Sarvodaya Institute of Higher Learning (SIHL) Main Campus, Bandaragama, on 21st and 22nd May 2026, the program focused on “Nature Trail & Connecting with Nature for Sustainable Green Living,” providing students with a unique opportunity to experience environmental learning beyond the classroom.
The program included guided nature trails, environmental studies, and interactive discussions aimed at deepening students’ understanding of biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable lifestyles. Participants explored local ecosystems, identified plant and animal species, and reflected on the close relationship between humans and nature.
A special session on “Connecting with Nature for Sustainable Green Living” encouraged students to adopt environmentally responsible habits through practical and engaging activities. Topics such as responsible consumption, emotional well-being, social responsibility, and meaningful living were discussed to help students become more mindful, resilient, and socially conscious individuals.
The excursion also highlighted the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as climate action, responsible consumption, quality education, and life on land. Through experiential learning and reflection, students gained valuable insights into how small lifestyle changes can contribute to healthier communities and a more sustainable future.
This initiative reflects the continued commitment of both Musaeus College and Sarvodaya Institute of Higher Learning to nurturing environmentally responsible youth leaders who are prepared to contribute positively to society and the planet.
