We are extremely delighted to receive the 7 Volume set of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Report of South Africa from a former Sri Lankan Ambassador to South Africa. TRC was a courtlike body established by the new South African government in 1995 to help heal the country and bring about a reconciliation of its people by uncovering the truth about human rights violations that had occurred during the period of apartheid. The TRC had a number of high-profile members and I had the unique opportunity to meet it’s Chairman Archbishop Desmond Tutu in person 12 years ago. The TRC Report is the latest addition to the Peace Library at the Sarvodaya Institute of Higher Learning (SIHL) Bandaragama which has a unique collection related to conflict, conflict transformation, peace building and reconciliation and includes the Collected Works of Johan Galtung who is considered the father of peace research.

දකුණු අප්‍රිකාවේ සත්‍ය සහ ප්‍රතිසන්ධාන කොමිසමේ සම්පුර්ණ වාර්තාවේ වෙළුම් හයකින් යුතු පොත් කට්ටලය පරිත්‍යාගයක් ලෙස ලැබුණා. මීට වසර 12 කට පෙර එම කොමිසමේ සභාපතිත්වය දැරූ අගරදගුරු ඩෙස්මන්ඩ් ටුටු පුද්ගලිකව මුණගැසීමේ වාසනාව මට ලැබුණා. ඓතිහාසික වාර්තාවේ ප්‍රකාශනය බණ්ඩාරගම සර්වෝදය උසස් අධ්‍යයන ආයතනයේ සාම පුස්තකාලයේ ගැටුම් කළමනාකරණය, සාමය සහ සමගි සන්ධානය පිළිබඳ පොත් එකතුවට එකතු වනවා. සාම අධ්‍යයන විෂයයේ පුරෝගාමියා ලෙස සැලකෙන මහාචාර්ය යොහාන් ගල්තුන් ගේ ග්‍රන්ථ එකතුවද මෙම විශේෂ සාම පුස්තකාලයේ තැන්පත් කර තිබෙනවා.
