Course Developer / Faculty
He completed his MSc in Geopolitics and Security at the Royal Holloway, University of London in 2016. His MSc dissertation was titled “Maritime Security and the Securitization of a Post-Civil War Sri Lankan Identity: Sinhala Buddhist Identity, Tamil Space and Historic Waters”. He completed his BSc (Hons) in International Relations at the University of London under its International Programmes with the academic direction from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). He was the winner of the Sirimao Banadaranaike Memorial Prize for the Outstanding Student at the Diploma in Diplomacy and World Affairs at the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDT) for the year of 2013. His research interests focus on borders and borderland studies, maritime and trans-boundary disputes, inter-relations of military and the media, constitutional development of self-determination, urban design and security, international development and, e-residency and cyber-sovereignty. Jerome develops curricula for SIHL and is part of our community of faculty. He is currently a Deputy Manager to a International Volunteer Engagement venture and is a visiting faculty member and a course developer at several higher education institutions in Sri Lanka.
